You might try this…
1) Right-Click on “Sectionals (US)”
2) Check box that says “Allow This Folder to be expanded”.
3) That will let you select the individual grids. You might need to hunt around for the area you’re interested in. A1 is NW, F10 is SE.

Also, not sure how fast your connection is. For me, the maps load in about 3-5 seconds as I pan around to a new area. That seems pretty quick to me.

my pilot friends and i also wondered if it was possible to only turn on smaller ‘areas’ instead of the entire 48. maybe list the sectionals by there original names, then you would select just the one you needed – less download time and since the data would be much smaller the cache would hold them and navigating would be much faster and smoother. just a thought. thanks

Sorry, there is no way to have these locally on your computer at this time. This issue is simply the size of the files. All together, almost 2 gigabytes. If someone wants to volunteer to host them for offline use, I don’t have any problem providing them. But I can’t do the hosting.

is there any way to have this locally on my hard drive? i have a fast connection and a fast computer but it takes a long time to download and is agonizingly slow to navigate around once they are visible. this is the neatest thing since sliced bread but takes forever to use. thanks

I ordered all the charts from ChartGeek and now I would like to do something similar to the google earth plug in version you have. Can you give me any tips on how to do that? I have the whole web page set up the way I want it and I am currently using your link to the kml files for demo purposes.

I tried the “contact me” link on the plugin page, but it doesn’t work.

It actually does not contain Hawaii. We feel very much left out! (any hopes to have it soon?)

Sorry. Not sure about Australia. As far as I know, the US is the only country that makes them available in public domain.
