Real time stream monitoring gage data for the United States with data provided by the USGS. Simply click on a placemark to bring up data for that location. The data available varies by site, but typically includes parameters such as Discharge Volume and Stream Height.

A simple method of viewing georeferenced Flickr photographs in Google Earth. This retrieves from the pool of all public georeferenced photographs on Flickr. A maximum of 200 photo locations are shown at a time and they update shortly after you stop moving the view around. Preference is given to interesting photos.

The Demis Wold Map overlays a global map on to Google Earth. The map appears to have highway-level detail for much of the world and increases in detail as you zoom in. I believe Demis offers other versions of this map with more detail at their website.
The GeoNames geographical database contains over eight million geographical names located throughout the world. The database includes the locations of such things as Populated Places, Parks, Churches, Shopping Center, Beaches, Administrative features, Road/Railroad features, Vegetation features, etc.
The list of placemarks updates when you stop moving the view around and it make take a few seconds to refresh the data when you stop.
Bomb data showing the locations and other specific information such as aircraft type and target type for 1,000s of bombs dropped by the US Air Force in Indochina during the Vietnam War 1965-1975. These are very large datasets so only load one at a time, and be patient while they load.
